Five years in the history of an organization is not a long period,
but first five years is significant because it is a period of evolution of its vision,
culture, structure and systems and processes. Centre for Development and Harmony
completed five years of its service to the social work groups and social workers
on 29th September 2007. There was a proposal to conduct an evaluation
of CDH in view of clarifying its future development and growth. For five years CDH
was functioning in rented buildings. From April 2007 the office of CDH was shifted
to a flat purchased by CMI Seva Sangh, the legal holder of CDH. The five years were
in a way a period of experiment. After the completion of five years of its functioning,
the general consensus among the members of its legal holder is that CDH could continue
as a professional support organization in the filed of Social Work and make a significant
contribution.
CDH COMPLETED FIVE YEARS

Instead of conducting an external evaluation it was decided to conduct
an internal evaluation in two stages. First an internal evaluation was done by the
CDH team. The findings of the internal evaluation were presented at a meeting of
a few CMI members who are closely associated with CDH. As a preparation for the
evaluation a document titled “CDH at a Glance” was prepared. It is an attempt to
document the history, norms, practices and policies evolved by CDH during the last
five years. In other words it is an attempt to articulate its vision, culture, structure
and systems and processes. During the evaluation process the Vision, Mission and
Objectives of CDH were revisited and the needed improvements were effected. The
norms, practices and policies were accepted for the continued implementation.
