ACTIVITIES OF CDH
The main activities of CDH during the last
five years have been the following :
Common Training Programmes: On an average 3 common trainings for the NGOs, including
the partner groups of CDH have been organized by making use of the training
institutes available in Bhopal.
Training Programmes for Women Religious: On an average four trainings
are organized for religious sisters on different subjects from the point of view
of professionally empowering them. The trainings are generally organized in collaboration
with religious congregations, by making use of their infrastructure.
Trainings for the Grass Root Level Organizations: These trainings are conducted
by the CDH staff, especially by the Field Coordinators at the place of the partner
groups. On an average 10 such trainings are conducted in a year for the Self Help
Group members and leaders and Animators.
Periodic Visit to the Partner Groups: The Executive Director of
CDH, the Coordinator and the Field Coordinators
visit the partner groups at least twice a year for guidance and accompaniment.
Assistance in Project Preparation: CDH assist the partners as
well as non-partners in the preparation of the project proposals. During the last
five years CDH assisted in the planning and formulation of about 40 project
proposals for different organizations.
Consultancy: CDH provides regular consultancy through the personal
service of Jacob Peenikaparmbil CMI to two funding organizations: Indenhilfe
Herrsching, Germany for its projects in West Bengal and Orissa. CDH started research
and evaluation wing in August 2007.
CDH also gives consultancy to the NGOs on request.
Research and Evaluation: It is one of the important activities for the professional
empowerment of grass root level organizations. With the joining of Dr. Johnson Vadakumchery it is going to be one of
the prominent activities of CDH. CMC-AMA, a funding agency from Netherland has agreed
to support to conduct a research study on the “Impact of Boarding Houses in Empowering
the Tribals”. The concept paper and project proposal are being prepared. The IInd research
planned is
"Emergence of Women Leadership through Self Help Groups".
Publication of News Letter- Vikas Mitra: Three issues of Vikas Mitra
are published in a year. Each issue highlights an important developmental subject.
Six Months Residential Training for Community Organizer: Two batches of 13 youth from
the rural areas were trained in 2006-08. The Candidates were sponsored by NGOs
from M.P. All the trained persons are employed.
